Boise Collective
From Boisecollective
The Boise Collective is a group of twenty-somethings currently living at 234 SE 50th Ave in Portland, Oregon. It was created by twin brothers Jeremy Holmstead and Jacob Holmstead in honor of their hometown of Boise, Idaho. The original intention of the collective was to build a surplus of bicycles to be lent and given to friends. The Main Page gives general information about the Boise Collective wiki.

Creation
The Boise Collective was created by the Holmstead twins in 2006 after they had moved to Portland, Oregon. Jeremy, however, has spoken about the Boise Collective as an entity that was responsible for getting bikes for up to 20 people, many of whom became hooked on biking thereafter. The group responsible for making these bikes consisted of Jeremy, Jacob, Emil Harry and Mark Ortiz
Members
As of January 2009 there are five people living at the current home of the Boise Collective, 234 SE 50th Ave, Portland, OR. They are Kyle Bowling, Shane Danaher, Jacob Holmstead, Jeremy Holmstead and Sam Nelson. Also a member is Emil Harry, but he lives somewhere else. Also Mark Ortiz is really good friends with the twins. And probably a multitude of other people should be listed here, including girlfriends past and present. So if you're pissed about your name not being listed you should probably say something on a discussion page.
Bicycles
Bicycles were and remain the main focus of the Boise Collective. Here one can view a compendium of Boise Collective Bicycles.
Bike Fort
In the fall of 2008 Jacob, Jeremy and Sam built a bike fort in the backyard. It can be viewed in Sam's facebook album. The fort was constructed using wood and tin from the rebuilding center (except for two 2x4's from Home Depot). It is approximately 21 feet wide by 9 feet deep and stands at a slant from 6.5 to 9 feet tall. Currently the bike fort shelters an old couch belonging to Damen King, two bike trailers and 5-10 bikes.Parties
The Boise Collective has been host to several fun parties, especially Halloween 2008. The weekend after Halloween, however, the police were called on both Friday and Saturday night by the neighbors. This forced a party-less period still in effect in early 2009. It is unknown whether the neighbors would call if a party were to be held soon, with or without prior notice. It is known that the neighbors plan to be out of town in February and that a party MUST AND WILL happen then.
Garden
In 2009 the Boise Collective is going to plant a big, fine garden in the backyard. The details of this can be seen on the Garden page.
